It took me 2 years to land a job. And at that, I had to move 2,000 miles from home for it.

IT takes several months to go through background, interviews, and then there is usually Lie detector tests and physicals as well. I applied for my current job around October November and had a start date of May 2nd. So it can be a lengthy process. I also had to move for the job as will you unless you are VERY lucky. My advice start trying to shadow at your local agency or do an internship. Experience is everything... I would start around a month or two before you graduate ( As long as you know you will graduate) that way even if they rush it they wont have a start date before you finish.
