Hello,

I am 24, and I am currently looking at this field and I'm in need of some advice.  Currently, I worked for the US Government for 3 years, have a TS/SCI clearance and an AS in Science majoring in Computer Forensics and Network Security and a Security+ and an expired Certified Computer Examiner Certification (CCE).

What I am wondering is what type of education would you recommend for a person like me that is wanting to round out my Computer Forensics to a degree that an agency would consider me for employment, and what other degrees should I take that would help me in becoming a Forensics Investigator either for field or lab.

I am also interested in learning where is the best place to start with an agency, such as, starting as an Evidence Technician or another position so that I can learn as much as possible.  If anyone has advice in this area, I would be grateful.

The last question I have is, would anyone know of an agency that is currently looking for any type of an entry level, internship, or opening that they would like to fill in the Michigan State Area.  I live in the Lewiston, MI area, but I am looking at a few colleges up in the Sault Ste Marie, Traverse City, Gaylord, and Detroit Areas, any advice or ideas would be appreciated very much.

Thank you for your time in reading this and for any advice you may have.  I can be contacted at my Email Address (Apsey8014@Gmail.com).

Best Regards,
Steven Apsey
