Career Research Project

Keziah Davis
I am planning to go to college next year to study Forensic Science and later become a Crime Scene Investigator. For this project I need to interview someone in this field. If its not burden can you please answer a few questions, please and thank you :
1. What is the amount of years of college and or job training needed?
2. What is the amount of training time on the job before a full salary can be earned?
3. Describe equipment and/or technology that will be used on the job.
4. Describe the skills and characteristics that employers would want in your chosen career.
5. Describe a starting salary or rate of pay per hour for this job.
6. What kind of health benefits does this job offer?
7. What qualities do you already possess that would be helpful in this field?
8. Describe what the current job market is like for someone in the field.

THANK YOU
Liz

1. What is the amount of years of college and or job training needed?
I had 4 years of college, plus a 600 hour internship (on the job training).
2. What is the amount of training time on the job before a full salary can be earned?
That depends on the agency you are working for.
3. Describe equipment and/or technology that will be used on the job.
There is too much to list, and the equipment / technology varies upon case.
4. Describe the skills and characteristics that employers would want in your chosen career.
Organized, Well rounded, Able to communicate / understand, Willingness to work.
5. Describe a starting salary or rate of pay per hour for this job.
Depends on the agency and location you're working in.
6. What kind of health benefits does this job offer?
Depends on the agency.
7. What qualities do you already possess that would be helpful in this field?
Personality is huge; you need to be able to get along with people, you deal with people every day.
8. Describe what the current job market is like for someone in the field.
If you don't have experience, it's tough to get your foot in the door, but once it's in, oppertunities are great.

Hope this helped!
