how likely is to still gather DNA of suspect from a gas station door after it's been handled by officers, employees, EMS personnel?

Collecting touch DNA has its limitations, with mostly the small size of the sample being collected. So an area that has been handled extensively, without gloves especially, may not yield a thing!
Fingerprints may have a better chance from the suspect pushing the door open or closed or the countertop, if touched..Or a beverage cooler door/handle.
