is there a standard time in which to clear a murder scene to where the body may be removed? would 4 or so hours with the body still in position be excessive? thanks.

Sophee—

No, and no.

Normally, the body remains in position as long as necessary to do a large part of the crime scene investigation. The position and condition of the body in relation to the scene must be documented thoroughly. Four hours would not be excessive in a complicated scene.
