Our process for hiring whether it be a police officer, custodian, IT or CSI is fairly elaborate. Once the process begins, it generally takes three months before we are at a point where we can begin the third interview for hiring. I am not as concerned about what jobs you have had in the past. The first question my background investigators will ask your former and/or current employer is "Would you re-hire this person?" I want to know whether or not you reported for work on time, did you call in sick as soon as you earned a leave day? Did you get along with other employees, did you argue with the boss? Did you show up for work with the flu and cause an epidemic? Your previous job description is not nearly as important as your performance.
